What a lovely pub! Came for drinks on Friday night and had a warm welcome from the locals, the dogs and the landlord David. Returned on the Saturday night for dinner. We shared the Tempura Prawns that were perfectly cooked- crispy and hot with a sweet chilli sauce on the side. We wished we'd ordered one each instead of sharing!
Then for our main my partner had the Meon Burger with additional cheese and bacon. He pronounced it extremely juicy and tasty. It came with coleslaw and skin on chips which were clearly homemade and very moreish.
I had the homemade cottage pie which was topped with mash and cheese. This was the best cottage pie I've ever eaten. Apparently the cook's grandma's recipe. It came out piping hot from the oven with peas. Proper comfort food.It was torture waiting for it to be cool enough to eat.
Suffice to say this is a wonderful pub and judging by the cakes on the bar I suspect it's an equally good daytime cafe David and his team are very welcoming and made us want to stay longer.
Highly recommended!

Lovely friendly pub in a beautiful village. Piping hot home made food. Made to feel very welcome and no rush to finish our food. Dog friendly. Clean. Will definitely go again.
Vegetarian options: Excellent veggie and vegan options.
Parking: We got the last on site spot but plenty of parking on the road.

Follow Mr & Mrs R on TikTok. A lovely pub to refresh one’s self, in the beautiful Hampshire countryside.
An ideal start and finish for many interesting and picturesque walks around the village of East Meon.
Great ale, great food, great day out! That’s all that one could ask for

Friendly local pub, very popular with walkers, cyclists, and families. Small car park around the back and a couple of spaces in front. The pub is the heart of the village, anything that happens in the village, the pub supports and is a base for food and drink in village activities. There's a small garden at the back with a small children's playground and some outdoor seating at the front, where you can watch village life go by. The coffee and cakes are a big hit, as are the Sunday dinners!

Great place to get an excellent cup of tea and some perfect Victoria sponge. Really hits the spot. The place is a pub but also an all-day cafe.

A lovely village pub next to the Meon, we had great food and drinks at very reasonable prices. We had a great chat with some of the locals on the day we arrived and we were given really friendly and warm service by the owners and staff of this fantastic pub.

Very lovely and friendly pub in the middle of the countryside. As soon as we walked into the pub we were greated with a very warm welcome from the landlord David. Prices were very reasonable compared to other pubs in the area. This was our first visit to the pub but we will be back again very soon. If you are looking for a a friendly pub where you get a warm welcome from both the staff and the customers then this is the place to go. Good selection of drinks.
